When it comes to conceiving, your gut health plays a huge role.
Digestion plays a crucial role in overall health, including fertility. Poor digestion can lead to a variety of issues, such as nutrient deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, and inflammation, all of which can negatively impact fertility.
One of the most important things you can do to improve digestion is to eat a balanced diet that is rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
These foods are high in fiber, which helps to keep the digestive system running smoothly.
Another key step in improving digestion is to stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day can help to keep the digestive system moving and prevent constipation.
In addition to diet and hydration, there are a few other things that you can do to naturally improve digestion and boost fertility:
- Chew your food thoroughly: This can help to break down food more effectively, making it easier for the body to absorb nutrients. Chewing your food at least 40 times before you swallow sends signals to your stomach to get ready to digest, and also starts breaking the foods down, so your stomach doesn’t have to work so hard.
- Practice mindful eating: Eating slowly and paying attention to your food can help to reduce stress and improve digestion.
- Apple Cider Vinegar: 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar every morning helps you heal the gut and increase your stomach acid so you can break down your food.
- Breathe Deeply: Take some deep breaths and give thanks for the moment and the food you are eating. This allows your body to slow down and start getting ready to digest.
- Incorporate probiotics: Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that live in the gut and help to keep the digestive system in balance. Consuming probiotic-rich foods, such as yogurt, kefir, and fermented vegetables, or taking a high-quality probiotic supplement can help to improve gut health and boost fertility.
- Get regular exercise: Physical activity can help to improve digestion and reduce stress, both of which can boost fertility.
- Manage stress: Stress can negatively impact fertility by affecting hormone levels and increasing inflammation. When your body is stressed, it can’t digest. Signals tell it that it needs to run and survive, not rest and digest!
- Add Bone Broth: Bone broth has nutrients in it that will help you heal the gut, try adding it to your diet!
By making a few simple changes to your diet, staying hydrated, and incorporating other healthy habits, you can help to improve digestion and boost fertility.
