September is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Awareness Month! In honor of that, I wanted to talk about getting pregnant with a PCOS diagnosis.
There is a lot of misinformation out there that says the only way to get pregnant with Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is to do IVF.
While that might be true for some extreme cases, the truth is that it definitely is possible to get pregnant naturally with PCOS.
Although PCOS is a chronic condition, there are many things you can do to manage it. And, since it’s PCOS awareness month, I’ve got some tips for you.
Many times, adjusting your eating habits is enough, and sometimes you may need some supplements or medication, but I want you to know many women with PCOS get pregnant, have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.
It’s important to know the severity of your PCOS because it’ll give you an idea of how to manage it better.
Some things you can do before trying to conceive with PCOS:
- Regulating your menstrual cycle (through diet, supplements, herbs, and acupuncture).
- Get your body back in balance.
- Exercise.
- Lose weight.
- Balance your insulin levels.
- Avoid dairy and gluten.
Remember…
- It takes a minimum of 3 months for your menstrual cycle and insulin levels to regulate.
- Once you’ve gotten healthy, wait 3 months before trying to conceive.
- Improving your fertility means improving your overall lifestyle.
We’re ready to help you when you’re ready.
