5 Ways to Improve Egg Quality

When it comes to fertility, egg quality is a key player in the journey towards conception and a successful pregnancy. Understanding how to improve egg quality can empower you to take control of your reproductive health and increase your chances of getting pregnant, staying pregnant, and having a healthy baby.

You Can Improve Egg Quality

What most women don’t know, is that there are things you can do to help support the health of the ovaries and eggs! But you must do them for at least THREE MONTHS to have an impact.

Many women I’ve worked with simply did not realize the importance of taking the time to get really healthy before conceiving or how that would impact the quality of their eggs.

It takes 90 days for your eggs to mature and be selected for ovulation.  Age alone isn’t the key factor to your pregnancy potential, instead, it’s about how healthy (or not) your body is as a whole. Your choices can either speed up or reverse the aging process of your eggs. But there’s good news!

The good news is: there are things you can do to improve your egg quality and your chances of becoming pregnant and having a baby!

On this YouTube episode of The Fertility Godmother’s Show, I talked about 5 things you can do to improve egg quality when you’re trying to get pregnant.

Five Pillars to Improve Egg Quality

  1. Nutrition is Key: Embark on a diet that’s rich in essential nutrients. Prioritize a variety of vegetables, lean protein sources, healthy fats, and whole grains to foster an ideal environment for egg development.
  2. Exercise Wisely: Engage in moderate, consistent physical activity. Find an exercise balance that invigorates without overtaxing your body, as both inactivity and over-exercising can adversely affect fertility.
  3. Manage Stress: Chronic stress can disrupt your reproductive system. Explore natural and healthy methods to manage stress effectively, ensuring your body is receptive to nurturing new life.
  4. Avoid Toxins: Substances like tobacco, recreational drugs, and excessive alcohol can diminish egg quality. For optimal health, these should be avoided or at least minimized to mitigate their impact on your eggs.
  5. Supplement Smartly: Elevate your nutritional intake with high-quality supplements that your body can absorb effectively. This includes a premium prenatal vitamin, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamin D, along with targeted supplements such as CoQ10 and melatonin, which are often recommended after appropriate testing.
